In what must be considered a spirited display of the rivalry between competing supporters, the San Jose Earthquakes main fan group 1906 Ultras displayed a pregame Tifo that poked fun at the perceived relationship between the owner of the Portland Timbers, Merritt Paulson, and the nationally acclaimed Timbers Army that supports the team. Paulson as puppet-master and the Army as sheep? Not quite offensive, but definitely pushing the bounds of spiritedness.
